This year on Halloween night, three groups of young boys entered our yard, saw our yard sign, and began chanting, "Obama, Obama, Obama," but it was the second group of boys, quiet, just barely daring to meet my eye, who defined this entire race for me. Three young black men, ages 8 - 10, who held their bags open for a Halloween treat, and instead gave me the moment of peace and hope that I've carried with me since, "Thank you," they each said sincerely. "Thank you for voting for Barack Obama." Nothing has mattered so much since then as making the world right and possible for those three boys. We have to get this right. I can't believe that we won't.
