'fraid so, son. That shit is bricked.

Damn it, I feel like I should say something in memory. It did last quite a long time however. Looks like someone needs to acquire Heathers, and go ahead and buy her an even newer one.

I'm getting an ipod touch (free) with my mac book, so I'll have an extra ipod if you're interested. Granted, it'll be about a month before I get the touch, but I just thought I'd offer.

Dave,

Hellz no. I'm getting my own sweet new iPod. Not taking anyone's hand-me down anymore.

Red,

We're buying a mac soon to replace our ridiculously outdated hp. So, I'll be getting the touch soon too. My plan is to get the touch, then take it back in and say, yes,
very nice, i didn't open it, but i'd like to upgrade to a classic, por favor.

but thank you for your offer anyway. i'd keep both ipods and use one as an external memory. you can set it to read like a hard drive, then set it to not automatically open itunes every time you plug it in, and then you'd have a 20G or whatever hard drive for taking documents and files places. Just a consideration. It's what I was going to do to mine until it went quietly into that good night.

That was the scariest headline I have ever seen. Especially ... Thank goodness for that picture.

Thank you, Flaky Genius. I was terrified to comment until I found out it was definitely the iPod that went kaput.

People, people, it's an iPod icon. I've been having horrible trouble with my iPod for months now. Sorry for all the confusion, but isn't that picture kinda obviously an iPod?

Yes, it is very obvious. But most people don't have relationships with their iPods. (Or do they?)
