It's amazing when someone you think of as already dead up and dies. You suddenly realize how little you actually know about the person who made the art.
Wyeth's stuff always made me smile, which might be an odd thing to say about his simple, quiet work. At any rate, he was such a name that I considered him about as real a person as Giotto or an Old Master.
